While out fishing in the Swansboro area of North Carolina, I saw Bear Inlet.  I was captured by the image before me and I knew I needed to paint it.  I then proceeded to take a number of reference photo's, trying to capture on the camera what so moved me while motoring by.

While completing this painting, I had the idea of painting all of the inlets local to the area.

I modified some of the sky and water coloring to make it a bit more interesting but tried to keep the contrasts especially with the trees.
